Horse owners and professional horseman alike have questions and concerns about the care and transportation of their horses.  The following questions and answers should help you decide if you want me to transport your animals.  If you need any other information that has not answered your concerns, please call me at 360-607-2158.

What kind of trailer will my horse be transported in?

Your horse will ride in a custom built van style trailer with 9' of head clearance, and about 4' X 9' stall.  The box stalls for transporting mare and foal are 8'x10' and fully enclosed, along with the option of hauling tied or loose.  The floors are rubber matted and bedded in either straw or shavings.

What will my horse eat?

Your horse will be fed the best quality hay available.  If your horse has a special diet, I will feed what you provide.  There is fresh water in the stalls at all times.  It is topped off at every stop. (About every 4 hours.)

Does my horse need leg protections?

This is totally your choice or preference.  I recommend you ship your horse in what it is accustomed to.  Unless you have had previous problems, I do not recommend tail wraps or helmets, especially on long trips.

Can I check on my horse and it's location enroute?

If you choose, I can call you with regular updates on location and your horse's condition.

Who will be driving and caring for my horse while in transport?

The driver, caretaker and owner of Prestige Horse Transportation is Jerry Meling. PHT was established in 1998. I have over 30 years of professional experience working with and hauling horses. I am a licensed trainer and farrier.

Can you haul my tack too?

I will take one tack trunk per horse at no extra charge. More equipment can be hauled for an additional charge. All equipment sent must be in a suitable container, labeled and declared on your bill of lading. You will need to provide the insurance for the contents

What paper work is needed to ship with my horse?

You will need a current health certificate and a negative Coggins test dated within 6 months of your horse's shipping date, (your vet will help with these).  If you are shipping from the following states, you will need a brand inspection certificate: Colorado , Idaho , Montana , Nevada , New Mexico , Oregon , South Dakota , Utah , Washington , or Wyoming .

How do I schedule my horse(s) for transportation?

Call 360-607-2158 or contact me by e-mail at prestigehorsetransport@yahoo.com . All calls and messages will be returned as quickly as possible.

How and when do I pay for the transporting of my horse(s)?

I require a 50% deposit prior to loading of the horse(s).  The balance is due before the horse(s) are unloaded, unless other arrangements have been made prior to shipment.  Payment can be made by certified check or cash.

Why should I ship my horse with Prestige Horse Transportation?

Prestige Horse Transportation is a one rig operation. I have one of the safest and most comfortable horse trailers on the road today. It has been designed solely for the safety and comfort of horses and it is well ventilated. Your horse is under video surveillance while traveling and I care for your horse's needs. Temperatures are taken daily, and electrolytes are given orally during hot weather.

My goal is to have your horse(s) arrive in top condition and ready to compete, if necessary.
